The Speed of Business with AI

I had a call with a CTO with another company while on vacation last weekend. I couldn’t help but think of the speed of business we live in today. It isn’t just the speed of business alone but the pressure to keep learning.
Personally, I like it.

The call had a lot of sharing of what we are both working on personally for our companies. I like having these chats with people because it calibrates where I’m at in relation to AI and in trying to know what’s in front of me.
Forget about Brazil, have you heard of Jev?

We talked about Jev by typesafe.ai and how this was yet another new tech that just launched on September 15th, 2026. We both talked about how the speed of business was at a dizzying pace. It feels like we have to be sharp and stay on top of these things, spend time to work on it while doing our regular work.
As a founder of my company, I feel this is urgent in the sense that if you leave this to your team and they don’t do it, it might be too late.
Ironically enough, after that call, while still on vacation, I started my first attempt at Jev to add it into one of my projects. In an hour, I got exactly the result I was hoping for and I can see a wider array of use cases that I will always tap into.
I can only think about how many people won’t ever start with Jev or will do so many months down the road while everyone else uses this new tech to their advantage.
When we saw a lot of SEO affiliates get wiped out with Google, I think there will be more business casualties ahead but possibly more opportunities for others.
AI Engineering book by Chip Huyen

While on vacation, I brought my Kindle and I made Grok bot help me decide on what books to read next and it was between practical vs fiction.
I wanted more practical but the problem is a lot of tech books today are almost obsolete.
I ended up picking AI Engineering by Chip Huyen
I have to say this is a timeless book that anybody wanting to understand AI on a deeper level, they should consider it.
What is written in this book are things I knew to be true, that the foundations for what makes AI great today, sits on decades of work, programming and foundational knowledge.
Besides Grok Bot, what am I working on?
Grok Bot has been out a short while and I haven’t even talked about Muse (by Facebook).

My Grok bots are doing a lot and they are doing more than I could have imagined. They can do very basic and menial tasks to more advanced.
For example I have a Grok bot that is connected to one of my agent’s email accounts and that agent has their own Github account. I can now share repos of websites I have and basically tell Grok to update anything on the website. I can update the design, content, code and build features that don’t exist today.
In the past, I would build features that would require weeks of programming and cost thousands of dollars. Today it is just the cost of a subscription and the time has shrunk from weeks to a prompt.
Who are the winners today?
I’m not sure if there will be a new world where there are a lot of losers, but if not, then I see the winners today as being the ones who are doing.
It isn’t just learning but applying that learning and doing things. Some will do things that won’t lead to business, productivity or any improvement in their personal lives.
When I say who will be the winners, it will be the people that apply this new tech.
10 years ago, that was one person deciding to build a website over 3 months.
Today it could be deciding to build 1 website today. It is the person that will be doing something and stacking these wins.
PS I did get to have some time on vacation swimming, fishing, cooking and walking in forests while driving and staying on a houseboat. I have a hobby website I run with my business partner called Canada Houseboating
. I do use houseboats as a means of disconnecting even though I like to be connected and work sometimes when away.
Of course, Grok Bot is now helping to build and maintain that website.
