An Evening at Betty’s: Wine Poker and Cabaret in Lisbon

On 29 September, after the first day of SBC Summit Lisbon, Betty brought partners together for The Big Betty Night at Palacete Virtvs. The hostess had prepared a 19th-century mansion with a pool overlooking the city, good wine and time for conversation.

Guests caught up at their own pace, leaving pitches and conference presentations behind. Betty had other plans for the evening.

At the wine poker table, partners guessed the grape variety, vintage, and aging of the wine in their glasses. They backed their answers with chips and explanations. Simply claiming to know your wine didn’t quite cut it.

The Eluma Strings quartet played as conversations continued, cabaret dancers performed among the guests, and artists drew portraits from their photographs. Partners took those drawings home. Betty had thought of keepsakes, too.

Dear partners, thank you for joining us. An evening with company like yours deserved a few more hours.
