Before You Choose an Affiliate Program, Ask What Runs Its Dashboard

An offer says 45% RevShare. Lovely. Now, who counts the deposits? What gets deducted before that percentage is applied? And can you check the numbers in your own tracker?
That’s why I look at the software behind an affiliate program. Names such as Affilka, Cellxpert, MyAffiliates, NetRefer, and ReferOn come up often, but the platform name alone won’t tell you how a particular program is configured. Ask what you will be able to see and export.
Start with tracking. Can the program send S2S postbacks for registrations, FTDs, and qualified FTDs? Will your campaign IDs and sub-IDs make it all the way into the reports? How quickly do the figures update? If you’re buying traffic today, discovering a tracking gap at the end of the week is an expensive way to learn the answer.
Then check the commission math. RevShare is calculated on NGR, so ask exactly which deductions the program makes. For example, €10,000 in GGR might become €8,000 in NGR after deductions. At 40% RevShare, your commission would be €3,200. The percentage on the offer page is only part of the calculation. Get the negative carryover terms in writing, too.
One more question affiliates tend to ask only when trouble starts: what happens if the program changes platforms? Will your postback URL or affiliate ID change? Can you still access your old reports and commission history? Keep an export of your figures before any migration. Betty likes a clean paper trail.
At Big Betty Partners, we use Affilka, with ReferOn integration, and provide real-time stats, API, and postback functionality. We also have no negative carryover. If you’re comparing programs, put those details alongside the deal terms and ask the same questions of every team you speak to.
Which platform have you found easiest to work with as an affiliate? I’m especially curious to hear from anyone who’s had to reconnect a tracker during a platform migration. Did the numbers line up afterward?
I’ve covered the major platforms, commission models, tracking checks, and migration questions in the full article on Betty’s blog. Curious? Read it.
