Job Description
The Governance Analyst contributes to the implementation of Aristocrat’s Enterprise Data Governance Framework, enabling trusted, well-managed, and compliant data across the organization. This role focuses on maintaining governance tools such as BigID and Alation, driving metadata quality, data ownership visibility, and compliance with data protection and management standards.
The Governance Analyst serves as a key liaison between Data Governance, IT, Privacy, and Business teams to improve data transparency, quality, and accountability. Success in this role requires outstanding relationship management, multi-functional teamwork, and a proactive approach to improving governance processes.
What You'll Do
Coordinate and maintain data governance tools, including BigID (data discovery, classification, and privacy compliance) and Alation (metadata and data catalog).
Partner with business and IT team members to ensure accurate and complete documentation of data assets, business terms, and ownership assignments.
Support the ongoing operation of Aristocrat’s Data Governance Framework, ensuring consistency with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct data discovery and sensitivity analysis through BigID to identify and classify personal or confidential data across enterprise platforms.
Maintain high-quality metadata in Alation, including glossary terms, lineage, and stewardship assignments.
Track and report on key data governance metrics, including catalog adoption, BigID scan coverage, and data quality findings.
Develop and maintain relationships with global data owners, stewards, and privacy partners to support compliance and governance adoption.
Coordinate with Legal, Security, and Compliance functions to maintain data protection standards and ensure alignment with privacy obligations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Support initiatives related to training and communication to drive awareness and adoption of data governance processes and tools.
Find opportunities to streamline governance operations and improve efficiency through automation or new technology capabilities
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Governance, Computer Science, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in data governance, data management, or compliance-related roles.
Hands-on experience with BigID and Alation, or comparable governance and privacy management tools.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills; capable of influencing across functions.
Understanding of data governance principles, including metadata management, data stewardship, data quality, and privacy compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into business context.
Familiarity with Snowflake and modern data platforms. Experience in highly regulated industries or environments with strong data privacy requirements

$87,082 - $161,723 per yearOur goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
