    We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer who will be responsible for all payroll-related activities for our Valencia office. This includes ensuring full compliance with Spanish employment and tax law and all aspects of payroll processing management to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant salary payments to employees.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
     
    Payroll Operations & Compliance
    • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
    • Ensure compliance with local tax, social security, and labour laws
    • Registration of employees to the Social Security and Tax Authorities
    • Preparation and submission of the annual wage tax summary
    • Ensure proper application of special tax regimes (e.g., for non-residents or expatriates)
    • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
    • Coordinate with HR, TR regarding changes in employee compensation, benefits, terminations, employment, application of reward strategies and general data management
    • Handle payroll-related queries from colleagues
    • Generate monthly payroll reports and audit data
    • Support year-end tax reporting and audits
    • Collaborate closely with the Finance team for payroll reconciliations, audits, and month-end/year-end closings
    • Support in the payment and documentation of payroll advances
    • Reporting of payroll management data directly to Head of Payroll
    Qualifications:
    • Proven experience in payroll management
    • In-depth knowledge of Spanish labor law, social security, and tax regulations
    • Experience with payroll management systems
    • Familiarity with expatriate and non-resident taxation is a strong advantage
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
