What the role entails 

The Mathematician is an experienced individual contributor who independently designs and develops the underlying game mechanics using probability mathematics and programming techniques. They create, iterate, and maintain mathematical documentation, including PAR sheets and internal records, to ensure optimal game balance and compliance with internal standards. The role involves testing and verifying game features, building C# simulators to validate math models and gather statistical data, and collaborating with certification labs when needed. Mathematicians coordinate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to deliver accurate and validated game math details to customers, contributing to the overall quality and innovation of Play’n GO’s products.

Some of the key responsibilities of our Mathematician will be: 

•  Creates the underlying game mechanic based on the game rules and requirements of the game using probability Mathematics and programming techniques
• Designs, creates and maintains mathematical documentation
• Iterates the math in order to find the optimal game ‘balance’
• Ensures compliance to all internal standards, processes and templates when producing the math for the game
• Tests and verifies games and game features
• Creates game simulators in C# code in order to verify math and gather statistical data
• Works and cooperates with certification/compliance testing lab when required
• Coordinates with key stake holders and subject matter experts across the organisation to deliver valid game math details to our customers 

What we ask of you 

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, ideally with a focus on Probability, Statistics, or a related field.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience working as a Mathematician in the gambling or gaming industry is highly desirable.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly.
Language Proficiency: Strong command of spoken and written English.

Preferences:

• Game Math Modeling: Experience in designing and developing mathematical models for gambling games or other RNG-based products.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in C# used in game development or mathematical simulations.
• Project & File Management: Demonstrated ability to organize work within production schedules, manage digital assets, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical thinking, analytical capabilities, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Technical Tools: Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis tools, and modeling techniques.
