We are looking for a DevEx Engineering Lead to join our team in Belgrade, Serbia.
The mission is to own the strategy, tooling, and culture that make every BrainRocket engineer faster and happier. You will lead the DevEx Engineering team, own our Internal Developer Platform, and establish measurable, self‑service practices around build, release, and observability.
✅ Requirements:
✔️ 3+ years leading DevEx / DevRel / Platform teams; proven track record hiring and mentoring engineers.
✔️ Clear storyteller who can influence execs, partner teams, and individual contributors.
✔️ Prior experience working on an Internal Developer Platform or DevEx initiative.
✔️ Familiarity with tools like Port.io, Cortex, Backstage, etc.
✔️ Understanding of microservices architectures and team/service ownership models.
✅ Key responsibilities:
✔️ Closely communicate and collaborate with all engineering departments and teams to identify pain points and solutions on how to improve the way we develop, test, and deliver our products, ensuring security and reliability.
✔️ Accumulate best practices and wrap them up in a reusable company-wide solution.
✔️ Lead the architecture of an Internal Developer Portal.
✔️ Provide scorecards and golden paths for all development teams regarding toolset, plugins, frameworks, and processes.
✔️ Drive the TechRadar initiative and all processes around, i.e., trialing, assessing, adopting, and putting solutions on hold.
✔️ Collect developer-centric KPIs, run satisfaction surveys, and iterate on tooling to cut lead time and cognitive load, establish DevEx feedback loop (surveys, Slack AMA, interviews).
✔️ Develop and deliver internal training programs, workshops, and documentation to onboard new developers and upskill existing teams. Identify and promote learning resources, conferences, and certifications that help developers grow in their careers.
